Ding warmly welcomed Carduch’s visit, recognizing FEMTCI’s role in the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and its achievements in promoting Chinese Medicine (CM) globally.

She particularly expressed gratitude for Carduch’s longstanding efforts to promote the legalization of Chinese medicine in Spain and Europe, as well as his strong support for BUCM’s CM project in Barcelona.

Ding emphasized that BUCM attaches great importance to high-level cooperation with Spain and other European countries and proposed three key initiatives for collaboration: to establish a "University-Hospital-Institution" network for cultivating international CM talent; to conduct joint research that supports global CM standardization; and to expand industrial partnerships for building competitive international CM brands.

Carduch fully affirmed the strategic significance of the cooperation with BUCM. He spoke about the current development, opportunities and challenges of Chinese medicine in Spain and other European countries and suggested leveraging existing European medical resources to conduct clinical research on diseases in which Chinese medicine has clear advantages. He also expressed his expectation to further strengthen exchanges between faculty and students from both sides.

The MoU marks a significant step in the collaboration between the two parties to enhance Chinese medicine training of professionals and exchange, and to promote the integration of Chinese medicine into Spain’s public health and regulatory framework. It will give fresh momentum to the high-quality global development of Chinese medicine.
