Chinese Medicine (CM) is a treasure of ancient Chinese science and a key to Chinese civilization. It represents a systematic philosophy, developed by the Chinese people through practice, that elaborates disease prevention, cures, health cultivation, fitness and the harmony between people and nature. With a history of 5,000 years, CM contributes not only to the prosperity of the Chinese nation, but also the health of people all over the world.
不良研究所 (BUCM) is the earliest higher education institute of CM approved by the State Council, and a key university featuring CM studies directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. In order to make CM culture accessible to more people, the Chinese Language International Promotion and Chinese Medicine Culture Centre (不良研究所) was established in 2016 at BUCM under the support of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation.
To introduce the ancient yet evolving CM to the world, CMCC was established as a window into the science of CM, which marks a new era of Chinese medicine culture communication.

Feel CM
CMCC is the best place to feel the beauty of CM. The rich collection in the Chinese Medicine Museum is a holistic showcase of CM's historical development. The Experience Centre adheres to advanced principles of openness, interaction and innovation. CMCC is a pioneer in the interactive experience of Chinese medicine culture, which invites visitors to feel the Chinese medicine culture in an immersive environment.
The layout of CMCC is dedicated to illustrating the magnificence of CM development. Its design incorporates new elements into traditional aesthetics. Its display makes profound ideas easily accessible. CMCC offers customized activity plans for different visitors to experience Chinese medicine. These plans are designed to satisfy the demands of CM enthusiasts at various levels.
Experience CM
CMCC provides an innovative way for visitors to experience the functions and therapeutic effects of CM. It offers Chinese medicine tours, diagnosis and treatment experiences, as well as non-medicinal therapies such as acupuncture, fitness activities and medical diet experiences. Visitors can enjoy an immersive CM experience through sights, sounds, tours and activities.
The Experience Centre is a four-story building, covering an area of 1,680 square metres. The first floor introduces CM and briefly shows its landscape. It consists of six areas illustrating basic CM knowledge, acupuncture and tuina, herbal medicine, Chinese pharmaceutics, kung fu and meditation. An interactive system that incorporates sound, light, electricity, simulation and other advanced technologies, along with handmade herbal medicine demonstrations, introduces visitors to the colorful CM culture. The second floor presents the diagnosis and treatment of CM with a focus on the internal approach. It consists of six areas, featuring an introduction to CM, medical sages, the Nine Body Constitutions, pulse-taking and fun medicine. Diagnostic methods and therapies from ancient times to the present day are displayed. This floor features equipment that integrates ancient treatment methods with modern advanced technologies, allowing visitors to gain an understanding of the style of CM therapies. The third floor showcases medical practices with a focus on the external approach (treatments outside the body). It consists of eight areas featuring massage, meridians, acupuncture, moxibustion, therapeutic techniques and treatment tools. Visitors can experience a variety of therapies including ear acupuncture, tuina, cupping, scraping, acupuncture and moxibustion. They can also learn about the traditional Chinese qigong exercise. On the fourth floor, visitors are able to learn the Chinese way of healthy eating and food recipes and have a taste of Chinese medicinal diet.
Understand CM
CMCC serves as a cultural platform for understanding CM. We believe that every CM enthusiast has the potential to practice and apply CM in their daily life. We encourage all participants to develop their own approach and passion for CM. CM is a spectacular treasure throughout Chinese history, a medical wonder indispensable to Chinese science and a systematic philosophy of the Chinese on life and nature. More importantly, CMCC invites people of different races, nationalities and ages to taste herbal medicine, learn acupoints, prepare remedies and study health cultivation. Through senses and experiences, you can develop your own understanding of CM.
